While Annette’s role as CEO of Metfriendly is her first role in the Mutual sector, she has a long track record of applying commercial acumen in not-for-profit environments, both as an executive and non-executive director.

 Much of her career has been working with organisations that wanted - or needed - to drive change while protecting the values that are important to the organisations she works for and the markets they serve.

 When recruited into her CEO role, Metfriendly was looking for “… a Chief Executive who could lead and shape the organisation to be fit for purpose for the future. This involved putting the right team in place, leading the growth strategy of the organisation, and ensuring that the operational infrastructure was in place to support that growth. 

Underpinning this, the Board was seeking an individual who recognised our key differentiator was the strong relationship we have with our affinity group.”

As well as her role with Metfriendly, Annette is the non-executive Chair of a start-up Funeral Planning business and an art charity. Her hobbies include the gradual restoration of her slightly dilapidated old house, fighting with her husband over whether his book collection or her art collection should occupy the wall space, keeping bees, riding horses and providing a taxi service for two eternally ungrateful children.
