Elsabé van der Sijde is the lead law reform lawyer on the review of the Friendly Societies Acts 1974 and 1992. She joined the Law Commission of England and Wales in 2023. She qualified in 2012 in South Africa and has since obtained a master’s and a doctoral degree. Although a property lawyer by training, she has a particular interest in economic resilience and member-owned organisations.
