Jamie has worked in financial services for over 35 years, primarily in long-term savings. He has held positions in Operations, Marketing, Proposition Development, Strategy, Public Relations and Policy.

He started his career in 1989 with Standard Life Assurance Company, at the time one of the largest mutuals in the life and pensions sector, until its demutualisation in 2006. He continued his career there until its sale to Phoenix Group, after which he remained with the asset management business, Standard Life Aberdeen, until 2020.

Latterly, he held a global role, speaking to people around the world about different retirement systems and how countries were facing up to the challenge of an ageing population.

Jamie joined Royal London in 2021 and is Director of Policy, with responsibility across pensions, protection and asset management.

He is on the Trustee Board of the Pensions Policy Institute and the Policy Board of Pensions UK, alongside several other industry committees.
