Following an early career in the private sector in a range of credit analysis roles, Patrick joined the FSA in 2009 and has since worked in a number of supervisory roles, spanning life and general insurance as well as banking.

Prior to taking on the role as Head of Department for Retail & Commercial General Insurance, he managed a supervision team for two of the large US universal banks and worked on the coordination of engagement between the US and UK supervisory agencies.
