The Association of Financial Mutuals is the trade body that represents mutual and not-for-profit insurers, friendly societies and other financial mutuals across the UK.
Between them, mutual and not-for-profit insurers manage the savings, pensions, protection and healthcare needs of over 30 million people in the UK and Ireland, annual premium income of £19.6 billion, and nearly 30,000 employees (source: www.ICMIF.org).
A financial mutual is an organisation that supplies financial services products, and which is owned by its customers, or members. That means there are no shareholders to pay dividends to or account to, and a mutual can concentrate entirely on delivering products and services that best meet the needs of its customers.

We want everyone who attends our Conference to feel comfortable, enjoy the event and feel able to contribute positively and fully. As with all AFM events, we encourage attendees to read the AFM Behavioural Policy.
The conference is open to all Members and Associate Members of AFM.
Non-members who actively work with, promote or have a strong interest in the mutual sector are also welcome to select a 1- night delegate package option, or attend as a non-member exhibitor.
We know that some delegates may want to travel to Brighton on Sunday and stay overnight before the Conference starts.
If you are require accommodation for the Sunday evening, please speak to the Event Team on 01780 484052, or email afm@trinityeventsolutions.co.uk, and they will try to minimise the need for any room swap.
Subject to the number of people arriving early, we may organise an activity on the Sunday evening. We will let Members know over the coming months if we do decide to put something in place.
You can check in to the hotel from 16:00 onwards
A full list of confirmed exhibitors is published on this website. Delegates who have already registered their place will be able to log into their account and view a current list of delegates.
If you have any specific queries relating to attendance in the meantime, please contact the Event Team on AFM@trinityeventsolutions.co.uk
The dress code for the daytime Conference is business casual.
For the Monday evening Drinks Reception and Gala Dinner, the dress code is smart - formal evening wear. Black Tie is not requuired but is welcome.
In the event that you've booked and find that you're unable to attend the event, we encourage you to find a colleague to take your place as the Conference offers an excellent networking opportunity for your organisation.
Please contact the Event Team on afm@trinityeventsolutions.co.uk as soon as possible so the rooming lists and table plans can be updated where necessary.
Whilst we'll allow a substitute if advised before 15 September, bookings are non-refundable, unless there is a change of government policy which means the event can no longer go ahead.
AFM draws up a seating plan shortly before the event, based on the final attendance list and in a way that encourages networking opportunities across Members.
Should you have any special requirements for seating, please contact tamasin@financialmutuals.org
